It is quite possible to lose eyelashes permanently. I had eyeliner (permanant makeup) done about 6 years ago and I lost the majority of my eyelashes that never returned. New lashes grow, however, they never stay for long and fall out when they are still short. So I just have short little lashes now. Probably about a 50% reduction overall. The liner really was worth it for me, though, because i have some pretty severe eye allergies and this eliminated the need to wear daily makeup that caused constant irritation to my eyes. And, they look better anyway because they are never smeared and always straight etc. and my eyes aren't tearing and running all of the time due to makeup and mascara. So now, I only wear mascara for very special occasions and get it off as soon as the special event is over to keep my eyes happy. I think this doesn't happen to most people, but it did to me so I thought I would mention that. Perhaps it was the person that did mine (not at this salon), or the way it was done somehow (maybe wrong). Either way, I would still do it again.
